Being one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind, Pilanesberg National Park boasts rare rock types and -structures that make it a completely unique geological feature, exquisite to see from a balloon.
Situated in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province, adjacent to Sun City, the park is home to healthy populations of lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo - Africa's "Big Five”. As such, you can expect to enjoy incredible game viewing opportunities from the unique vantage point provided during your excursion. Ballooning is a great way to view wildlife, as it allows you to glide overhead without disturbing the animals, which normally causes them to break natural pack formation and flee.
Participants who are staying overnight are picked up from their Sun City- or Pilanesberg lodge and driven on a game drive vehicle to the launch site, which is situated next to a large lake in the centre of the park, known as the Mankwe Dam. Those who are only joining us for the day and do not wish to stay overnight will be met at the Park’s entrance gate.
The hot
air balloon flight is approximately one hour, after
which you will be served sparkling wine and orange juice
upon landing. A game drive back to Bakubung Lodge for
a five star breakfast will conclude the experience.
During breakfast you will be presented with a personalised
certificate to celebrate your unique
experience. After breakfast you can choose to spend
the rest of your day enjoying the various other activities
offered by Gametrackers or simply head over to the Sun
City casino to try your hand at a spot of gambling.
Please contact us to check for availability and prices, and take care to book your Pilanesberg National Park adventure well ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
**Please note that the hot air balloon safaris in the Pilanesberg National Park are offered daily in the morning and are subject to the weather conditions and the number of passengers.**
